This is a bit of a unique concept. The heart of this is a game based solely on the protagonist and a series of violent encounters with three characters. Though, not all in the game are that violent and there are some touching scenes.
The gate is where the game takes place. As players we are shown an introductory scene of the city. Then, the story starts to telling us about the city and its inhabitants. Living in an ancient and peaceful place, the people of the city had a regular life; instead of having to beg for scraps from wealthy nobles, they survived and prospered by selling their food off in the port. From what I remember, this system cannot be found in other cities of the same time period.
However, the city was flourishing in peace for no longer than a year. On the coastal port was a large ship celebrating the wedding of the firstborn son of the lord of the city; it was the beginning of a new economic system. This is when the story began to go completely insane. Shadowy figures in the night became the terror of the city, and there are rumors that they are the minions of a powerful wizard using a powerful witch and his magic to take over the country. d2c66b5586
