“Why have I bought this album?” “What is this film?” “What is this game?” “What is this performance?” “Why am I watching this episode of that sitcom?” “What have I just watched?” On the record player the discs lay in rows on the turntable, marked by little label stickers, with notes scribbled in the margins. The music lay on CDs, or the films on DVDs, and the videos on VHS tapes on the shelves in the bedroom. I would listen to the music before I would watch the films, and watch the films before I would read the novels. I read the novels before going to the movies. I watched the movies before I read the novels. I read the novels before watching the films. I watched the films before listening to the music. I played the music before watching the films. I watched the films before the videos and the games. I played the games before watching the videos. I watched the videos before listening to the music. When I wanted to go back to the past to recapture a mood, I would pull out a disc. A friend would borrow one. A girlfriend would lend us a CD. When we had changed our minds, we would return them to the respective owners.
In the old, pre streaming, pre-internet days, the music scene was small, and the people who listened to it were almost like a cult. If a new album by a big name artist came out, the same fan base would make sure that a copy of the CD landed in their hands. Even if they could afford buying the CD, the act of listening to it was a much coveted activity. There would be a few who would listen to the song (those with a discman) or the full length album. And in case that did not cut it, the music lover would watch a concert, live or a film of the artist performing the songs they loved. And if it was not available on that medium, they would wait.

I am running a PC with Windows 7 and Adobe Photoshop CS6. I am wondering how to end the trial period and convert to a full copy of Photoshop CS6. I tried closing down Photoshop, which produced a message telling me to return the disk. I did that, but the same message returned. How can I end this?
