Obi-Wan Kenobi, Qui-Gon Jinn, and Anakin Skywalker were traveling on a star cruiser to a distant world called Oomtuu (capitalized in the game as Omtuu) with the intention of encountering an allied species, the Bondara, essentially a pacifistic people. The cruiser was attacked by a larger ship piloted by the Xucuran, a rival of the Bondara, carrying a 180-ton class cruiser called the Stormdancer. The Xucuran delivered a direct hit, and the escape pod that Naberrie and Jinn had come in was struck.
The Final Battle - Episode II: Attack of the Xucurans marks the first appearance of Darth Maul.
